Path To Ownership
There are two paths to ownership when going solar. For the highest amount of savings, paying cash for the panels is the best option. Each system is designed for the specific needs of the homeowner therefore there is no way to provide an exact price. However, a ballpark figure of an average system typically runs $20,000-$35,000 with savings of $70,000-$100,000 over the lifetime of the system.
The second option is financing the solar. Homeowners that use this option typically see savings $40,000-$69,000 and do not pay an upfront cost to have the solar installed. In many cases, your solar loan payment and your new power bill together are less than your current power bill. The advantage to this option is you have $0 upfront cost to get solar installed on your home, there is no prepayment penalty, there is a fixed rate, and your payments end. Can you say the same about the energy you rent from your power company?
Get Your Free Solar Report
Once you decide which path to ownership you want to take we can provide you with a free solar report. In order to provide the most accurate information, we will need a copy of your most recent power bill or your annual KW usage by month. With that information, we will know how much energy your home uses and will be able to provide a system that will accommodate your needs. This report will have a lot of information on it and it is our job to ensure you understand it and answer any questions you may have. Once we receive your report back we will let you know and set up a time to go over it with you in person or virtually. This part is very important and we promise there is no sales pressure to make a commitment when going over your free solar report. Going solar is a big commitment and we want you to have all the information to make the choice that is best for you and your home.
Installation
When you are set to move forward our friendly solar experience team will get to work and be on stand-by for you through the entire process to sure it is as smooth and fast as possible. Installation typically happens about 30-60 days after the day you decide to move forward with solar due to engineering and permitting requirements.
Interconnect Agreement
Once the panels are installed your power company will complete their connection to your solar panel system that it can be brought online. This process is different for every power company, but typically requires that you to sign an interconnect agreement that details how your solar panel system exchanges energy with your home and the grid. Ask your solar consultant about your power companies interconnect agreement to learn more about their net-metering or bi-directional metering policies.
Monitoring
After your home’s solar panel system is brought online, we provide you access to your free monitoring system so that you can take control of your energy and see in real time how much energy your solar panel system is producing.
At Solar Planet, we strive to offer the highest quality service to our customers who join us in installing solar panel systems for their homes. After we prove this to you during your going solar experience, we ask that you share the word about our mission and team. By doing so, we offer a $1000 referral bonus for your recommendation to another homeowner that we help go solar.
